CHOOSE YOUR PICKUP
Choose your pickup
Choose the situation that matches your pickup at MIA.
A friend or family member is driving
Private-car pickup
- Traveler
- Send the terminal area and door only after you have collected bags and reached the curb.
- Driver
- Use the Cell Phone Lot rather than circling, then meet the traveler at the agreed terminal door.
Uber or Lyft
Ride-app pickup
- Traveler
- Check the app for the assigned door; MIA allows ride-app pickup on Level 1 Arrivals and Level 2 Departures.
- Driver
- Follow the app’s assigned curb and door rather than assuming every pickup is at Arrivals.
A taxi is the easier option
Taxi pickup
- Traveler
- Follow Ground Transportation or Taxi signs to the Arrivals-level curb outside baggage claim.
- Driver
- Use the staffed taxi stand rather than accepting an unsolicited ride inside the terminal.
Accessible transportation is needed
Accessible pickup plan
- Traveler
- For an accessible taxi, request it at the ground-level curb; for scheduled accessible transit, use the assigned terminal door.
- Driver
- Confirm the terminal letter and accessible pickup door before arriving.

Important details
MIA uses both terminal curb levels for ride apps
Unlike a simple arrivals-only plan, MIA ride-app assignments may use either Arrivals Level 1 or Departures Level 2. The app’s assigned door is part of the meetup.
A rail connection is inside the terminal complex
The MIA Mover links the terminal with the Rental Car Center and Miami Intermodal Center from Level 3, which can resolve a rental-car or transit meetup without a terminal-loop pickup.
